Not thinking big enough

I was a guest today on “Jennifer’s Board,” a radio show on MileHiRadio.com. During the show we talked about LOTS of things but the one HUGE piece of advice she gave me about my business was incredibly simple: she said, “You’re not thinking big enough.”

She could’ve said, “You’re thinking too small.”

But NO. She said, “You’re NOT THINKING BIG ENOUGH.”

Despite the fact that Jennifer rarely speaks in ALL CAPS, what she said simply stunned me. Everybody who’s ever looked at my business has said I’m thinking too small. Jennifer said, essentially, that size DOES matter — in your mind. If you THINK average, your business will never get past being a chore, a job, a place to spend all your money and time in the hopes of somehow making money doing what you love to do.

If you think BIGGER, then you PLAN bigger, you realize you WILL be bigger, and your business stops being a JOB and turns into a real money-making business.

So I’ve already started implementing ways to THINK BIG.

Thanks, blonde super-business-woman! You seriously should wear a cape. It would go great with the pants suit.

Multi-sensory stories for people with developmental disabilities

Another wonderful edit by Cheryl about our new client, Touching Stories. Gwen Bonilla explains why Touching Stories brings so many different experiences to people with developmental disabilities. Everybody deserves story because that’s how we experience the world, and Touching Stories can meaningfully impact people with developmental disabilities.

Why Touching Stories is so important

People with developmental disabilities may not have the cognitive ability to understand the words of a story, but they can experience stories by other senses. Gwen Bonilla, president of Touching Stories, explains why her multi-sensory stories are so rewarding to her audience and her organization.

Getting My Teeth On

I am so excited because I have started to work on our next video branding project. YourStoryCo is producing a series on dental cosmetic procedures for Dr. John Chaves. He has been my dentist for over 17 years, so I know his work is top notch.  I always like to experience an aspect of what I am shooting, so for this project I opted for the teeth whitening procedure. I was a bit nervous, as I had heard it was painful…

Stay tuned for the videos…spoiler alert: It worked great!

I also know that the care I give my teeth will totally change, just like the way my skin and appearance improved after producing the videos for Cyndy Everett on non surgical facelift procedures.

My skin looks better not only because of the work that I had done, but also because I am using the information I learned about skin care while producing the videos. Things that I can do to prolong my best me. Finally I get it! I need to be responsible for washing my face or brushing my teeth because I benefit. I now realize that when I would set the alarm in my calendar to remind me to start flossing 2 weeks before my dental checkup, that I was the only one who was going to reap the benefits or suffer the consequences. I now floss at least once a day!

Dental implants, why not?

Our Next Project: Cosmetic Dentistry

this is my first attempt at a video blog. LOL, I am sure they will be better when I get someone else to hold the camera…
